Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about play therapy at Moment in Time.
What is Play Therapy?
A safe space for play so that children can make sense of their feelings and experience them in a way that is natural to them.
What does the play therapy program involve?
At Moment in Time Therapy, play therapy follows a 12-week model where your child will attend a weekly session with a qualified Play Therapist. This structure allows time to build rapport, explore therapeutic goals and assess progress.
Are there reviews during the program?
Yes, we will have a review to discuss progress and any adjustments to the therapeutic journey. There may be mid-way reviews as well as final review meetings to reflect on the therapy journey and any further recommendations.
How and when do I make payment?
You can pay at the end of the session using cash or Revolut. Receipts can be provided at the end of 12-week therapy block.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes, we will inform you of our cancellation policy when your child starts play therapy. If there is a need to cancel your child’s therapy session, please inform therapist as soon as possible. Timely communication helps us make adjustments and maintain consistency in therapy for your child and others.
Why is it important to attend each session?
Consistency is essential in therapy to achieve the best outcomes. Regular attendance helps you child build trust, stay engage and make steady progress in their therapeutic process.
Do I need to stay on the premises during my child’s therapy session?
Yes, parents or guardians are required to wait on the premises while their child is attending therapy. This aligns with best practice guidelines and Children’s First Act requirements to ensure child safety and quick access to parents if needed during the session. Your presence also provides reassurance to your child and supports a smooth transition before and after each session.
How do I know if my child needs play therapy?
Trust your gut. If you’ve noticed changes in your child’s behaviour, mood or wellbeing that
worry you, if they are going through something difficult, or big changes have been happening
in their life it is worth reaching out. A conversation with a therapist can help you decide if
therapy would be helpful or not.
Will you tell me what my child says in the sessions?
The play therapy room is your child’s confidential safe space. The therapist won’t share
specific details unless there is a safety concern. However, within check-in meetings therapist
will discus themes, progress and how to support your child at home.
